My Role & Responsibilities : Game and level Designer

  • Concept Development:

    • Developed the core concept and vision for the endless platform runner, including gameplay mechanics, aesthetics, and overall player experience.

    • Collaborated with stakeholders to refine the initial game idea and ensure it aligned with market trends and player expectations.

  • Game Design Documentation:

    • Created and maintained detailed game design documents (GDD), outlining all aspects of the game, including mechanics, level design, character behavior, progression systems, and UI/UX flow.

    • Regularly updated the GDD based on team feedback, playtesting, and iteration.

  • Prototyping and Iteration:

    • Led the creation of gameplay prototypes to test and refine core mechanics and ensure the fun factor was present.

    • Conducted multiple iterations based on internal testing, player feedback, and data analysis to fine-tune the game’s mechanics and pacing.

  • Level Design:

    • Designed and oversaw the development of procedurally generated levels that provided engaging and challenging experiences for players.

    • Ensured levels were balanced and offered a good mix of difficulty and accessibility for different player skill levels.

  • Collaborative Development:

    • Worked closely with artists, programmers, sound designers, and other departments to ensure the game’s vision was realized across all elements.

    • Facilitated cross-departmental communication to ensure that design goals were understood and implemented correctly.

  • Approval and Feedback Loop:

    • Played a key role in the approval process for various stages of game development, providing constructive feedback and ensuring that all elements met the high standards set for the game.

    • Managed design reviews and provided feedback to ensure consistency and quality throughout the development cycle.

  • Player Experience and Balancing:

    • Focused on creating a smooth and enjoyable player experience by balancing game difficulty, reward systems, and progression mechanics.

    • Used player feedback and analytics to continuously improve the game’s mechanics and user interface.

  • Monetization and Engagement:

    • Developed and integrated monetization strategies (e.g., in-app purchases, ads) that aligned with the game’s design without compromising player experience.

    • Designed systems to encourage long-term player engagement, including daily challenges, rewards, and leaderboards.

  • Playtesting and QA:

    • Organized and led playtesting sessions to gather feedback on game mechanics, level design, and overall player experience.

    • Worked closely with the QA team to identify and resolve bugs, design issues, and areas for improvement.
